Deployment background
The site sat on an island with no distribution network and no realistic path to a grid connection inside the construction programme. Every kilowatt-hour had to be generated on site.
Diesel was the default option, but fuel had to be shipped in by sea. Weather windows, barge scheduling and on-site storage all added cost and risk, and generator runtime had to be maintained even during low-load night periods.
The setting was environmentally sensitive coastline, so noise, fuel handling and spill risk were under scrutiny for the duration of the works.

The solution
Bright Grid deployed a BRIGHT EDGE Remote™ M200 mobile microgrid combining solar PV, battery storage and intelligent diesel coordination. The containerised system was delivered by barge and operational within days of arrival.
Outcome
Significant reduction in diesel generator runtime.
